In September 2017, as a birthday treat to myself, I finally got the opportunity to visit somewhere I had always wanted to go, and I wasn’t disappointed!
The British Overseas Territory of Gibraltar is located at the southern tip of Spain, its a little bit of Britain, but with much nicer weather! Due to its size, I was able to walk around most of the ‘country’ over the course of a weekend, and even the hotel I stayed at was just a twenty minute walk from the airport.
Thoroughly recommended for a visit, I’d love to go again, unfortunately following the demise of Monarch Airlines (just a few weeks after I got back!) there aren’t any direct flights from Birmingham Airport any more.
