On the last day of my holiday, I was originally planning to go up to Fairbourne and have a trip on its minature steam train, before getting the ferry across to Barmouth, but that plan got scuppered when I found out that at this time of year the minature train doesn’t run on Fridays.
Never mind, there’ll be another opportunity I’m sure! So instead, a fortuitous bit of planning saw me make an impromptu visit out of Tywyn to go and visit the Dolgoch Falls instead. It’s accessible via the Talyllyn steam railway I’d previously travelled on from Tywyn, but on this occasion I was able to make use of the local G24 bus service instead, which dropped me right outside.
After a short walk from the bus stop, I was transported to a very peaceful and beautiful location, while I didn’t have the time to fully explore this place and get to the top of the gorge, I did enjoy the surroundings and the scenic views.
And it has to be said that the G24 bus has now entered my own list of scenic bus routes worth travelling on!
